I managed to get a little bit of the second kookaburra done and it’s easier on my eyes since I purchased the magnification lenses from the Chemist.

At this stage of the artwork I like the way the two kookaburras are composed and looking at each other. There is a definite connection or bond between them and the difference in scale suggests the dominance perhaps of the male bird. Viewing this stage of the drawing also makes me think of a stormy background perhaps and wildlife in the rain is a particular favourite of mine. The female is almost illuminated by a ray of light or the sun breaking through in the midst of the storm as we often see in tropical Queensland.
